“When Sonja Nuttall showed her first collection on the London catwalks in 1993, she
was hailed as one of a new generation of rising stars,” writes fashion editor Tamsin
Blanchard. Time and time again, Ms. Nuttall has proven the accuracy of those words.
Her clear vision and understanding of the intensity of form, be it in a powerfully feminine
dress or an exquisite cigar case, continues to stimulate the interest and loyalty of
the design world. Her key trademarks: elegance, luxury, effortless chic, urbanity and
eccentricity.
Thanks to her status as a leading British designer, Sonja Nuttall’s talent has been called

taste, attention to detail and level of sophistication.
Whether she is designing the Karen Harvey offices in New York and London, styling
an advertising campaign for Vidal Sassoon, developing a new lifestyle clothing line
for Bamford, or collaborating to create a destination shopping environment for the
National Museum of Ireland, she brings into the mix an unerring eye for beauty, and an
accomplished skill as a designer and an artist.
Past muses include Tilda Swinton, Vanessa Redgrave. “It is important for me to
be inspired by individuality, inner strength and beauty within,” she says. For similar
reasons, two design houses that she respects are Yohji Yamomoto and Comme des
Garcons. “They have maintained time and have true integrity for design.”
